Leonori: a Timeless Value
Founded in 1962 in a small workshop, Leonori Jewellery has known an increasing development over the last 50 years thanks to the devotion, talent and passion of three generations of jewellers who have been able to imprint on the brand Leonori an original and unmistakable style.
Agostino Leonori was born in a small town in the North of Italy. Since he was young, Agostino showed outstanding qualities for drawing jewels and a curious interest for diamonds and precious stones.
For economic reasons, he started working when he was nine years old as a locksmith welder in a workshop in town. His excellent design skills and extraordinary creativity were appreciated by an important goldsmith in the province and Agostino’s dreams started to become reality.
Agostino began to practice in all disciplines relating to gold and jewellery, in order to finally arrive – in 1962 – to his own business. He moved with his wife to Emilia Romagna where he founded the Atelier Leonori.
The triumph of Agostino’s passion is visible through the experiments and continuous developments that refer to the traditions of the jewellery of the early twentieth-century.
Beautiful bracelets and precious diadems were created by Leonori, as well as the symbols of Romagna such as the jewel Caveja which has been sold to important people of the time, including Alberto Sordi.
The passion for coloured stones became then a rigorous study which brought to a tirelessly quest for the rarest and most precious stones. Agostino’s preferences were oriented to classic and youthful collections, always employing diamonds and coloured stones to create a new concept in jewellery. The supremacy of the artistic expression – kept unaltered today – in which the jewel should have been a simple accessory, refined and elegant: “A Leonori’s jewel is a timeless value.”
Similarly, Agostino developed the Company which consists of a team composed of experienced goldsmiths, designers and gemmologists who continue to present wonderful creations. Agostino’s sons are now continuing the family tradition, bringing creative imagination and technical skills of jewellery for the exaltation of the gems. “A beautiful jewel has to allow the person who is wearing it to feel special and comfortable; moreover, it needs to be an enjoyable artwork to wear.” This is how one of Agostino’s sons, Cesare, defines their work.
Leonori’s success is to create a inimitable style and a refined, unalterable jewellery, making its unique creations with the imprint of passionate creative goldsmiths along with the quality of the precious gems and the excellent craftsmanship characterised by an attention put even on the smallest of the details.
Currently, with the arrival on the scene of the third generation of Leonori’s family, the history of this fascinating brand lives on with the same passion, commitment and enthusiasm for the stones started with Agostino. The same passion, commitment and enthusiasm which constitute the genetic heritage of Leonori’s tradition.
